If you love to sing but can’t fit a regular choir class into your schedule, the A Cappella Choir Club is just for you! Mr. Lim, the awesome choir teacher, welcomes everyone, no matter how much singing experience you have. It’s a great way to enjoy music and meet new friends!
In the A Cappella Choir, you’ll sing lots of different songs from different cultures. Mr. Lim’s goal is to explore folk songs that people don’t recognize, such as those in Spanish, Lebanese, English, African American gospel, Japanese, durme durme (Spanish Jewish), Irish Gaelic, and many more. Mr. Lim believes it’s important to recognize all cultures and that no culture is too big or too small. Mr Lim wants everyone to feel included and learn about the richness of different cultures through music.
Joining the A Cappella Choir isn’t just about singing, it’s also about having fun and making friends! If you’re unsure about joining, talk to Mr. Lim or ask your friends for support. “Friends make it easier,” Mr. Lim says.
The choir club meets every Tuesday and Thursday after school in room 324, making it easy to join in. You’ll not only get to sing together, but you’ll also have a fun time hanging out with each other. They even have cool field trips, like visiting Hazen High School (+ other schools) and a trip to Wild Waves at the end of the year!
The A Cappella Choir also loves to perform and join competitions where you can show off your singing skills and compete to win trophies. Mr. Lim is always looking for new members, so if you’re interested, be sure to check it out.
