This is a wrap for the RedHawkS athletics for the 2023 – 2024 school year! Congratulations to Courtney Reed for winning the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP in the javelin where he threw it 184 feet, 11 inches. Courtney is now 2nd all time in 90 years of Renton Track and Field in the javelin. Also, at State this weekend, Jonathan Munoz placed 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles in a dramatic finish, and also placed 6th in the 110 meter hurdles and 16th in the long jump. Caleb Reed placed 7th in the discus and 9th in the shot put. Angela Fiame placed 9th in the shot put and 16th in the discus. Yafeth Rivera Dias placed 16th in the 400 meter dash, and the boys 4 by 100 meter relay finished 12th. Overall the boys team placed 8th in State, their best finish since 2011. Great job to all of our student – athletes, coaches, and teams this year! We are already looking forward to the 2024 – 2025 school year, continuing to build culture and school spirit around athletics. Go REDHAWKS!!!

Final Forms is open now for students to register for summer athletics, as well as for the 2024 – 2025 school year! If you plan to participate in a sport this summer or during the 2024 – 2025 school year, please register today! This will allow you to receive communication from the athletic director and coaches, and allow the school nurses to provide medical clearance in a timely manner. If your student has any additional medical considerations (Health Plan), please update those now for the 2024 – 2025 school year, vaccinations must be up to date in order to participate in sports, and students must be registered on Final Forms.

  • Summer Sports (Not available for all sports): May 28 – July 31, 2024
  • Fall Sports: First day of football practice is August 21, 2024. First day of all other fall sports (Volleyball, Girls Soccer, Boys & Girls Cross Country, Girls Tennis, Boys Golf, Girls Swimming) practice is August 26, 2024
  • Winter Sports: First day of gymnastics practice is November 11, 2024. First day of all other winter sports (Boys Swimming, Boys & Girls Wrestling, Boys & Girls Basketball) is November 18, 2024. We will be offering girls Flag Football as a winter sport (Start date TBD).
  • Spring Sports: Begin March 3, 2025 (Girls Golf, Baseball, Fastpitch, Boys & Girls Track & Field, Boys Soccer, Girls Tennis)
  • You can begin paying sports fees on August 1, 2024 for fall, winter, and spring sports.

Step 1: Final Forms Registration

Complete the Final Forms registrationParent/Guardian initiates the process by clicking the blue button indicating “switch to 2024 – 2025 registration” then update forms.  A parent/guardian must create an account first, then add the student – athlete. For fall, winter, and spring sports additional paperwork will be required for student – athletes who are in running start, attend Talley High School/are Home Schooled, are a transfer student, or that are ineligible due to a hardship and need a WIAA eligibility appeal. For additional support please view the parent playbook (parent playbook – Espanol). Note, you only need to create one profile/account (not a new one each year), please make sure there is a sport selected, and that all forms and documents are completed and signed.

Step 2: Athletic Physical

Each student – athlete must have and upload a current athletic physical into Final Forms. Print the Medical History FormPhysical Exam Form and Medical Eligibility Form. Take all three forms to your doctors appointment and upload the completed Medical Eligibility Form only to your Final Forms account. Athletes can receive an athletic physical from their primary care provider or any licensed medical care provider, they are valid for two years, and must not be set to expire prior to or during a season. Athletic physicals are available to be done in the HealthPoint clinic at RHS, to schedule an appointment call 425.424.6310.

  • If you want to attend the FREE PHYSICAL event sponsored by Providence Swedish/Sounders
    • Wed Aug 14th (5:00 – 9:00 p.m.) and Thurs Aug 15th (3:00 – 7:00 p.m.)
    • Location – RHS
    • You will need to sign up for a 15 minute appointment – sign ups will open Mid – May

Step 3: ASB Card & Sports Fee

Each student must purchase an ASB card ($30) and pay a sports fee ($75) for fall, winter, and summer sports in the ASB office to Mrs. Carlson. If a student receives free or reduced lunch the ASB card and sports fee are FREE, but the free and reduced lunch paperwork must be submitted to the ASB office. For questions about the ASB card or sports fee please e – mail Mrs. Carlson.

Step 4: Clearance

On Final Forms if the banner of the student’s name is GREEN, all necessary steps have been completed, and the student is fully cleared to participate. If the banner of a student’s name is YELLOW, the student is allowed to participate in practice, but not participate in games/meets/matches/competitions and further action is needed to complete the clearance (If yellow you will receive follow – up from the athletic department). If the banner of a student’s name is RED, the student is NOT allowed to participate in practice/games/meets/matches/competitions and further action is needed to complete the clearance for participation (If red you will receive follow – up form the athletic department).
