Are you interested in music? The RHS Band Club is a fantastic way to get involved, but to be part of the club, you do need to be in band class. In band class, you’ll learn to play different instruments like the flute, clarinet, saxophone, violin, and more, you’ll explore the many styles of music.
The RHS Band performs at concerts, sports events, and varsity home games, including football and basketball games. There’s even a summer marching band where you can learn techniques and better your skills.
For performances during basketball and football seasons, the band plays a mix of popular songs from artists, for example, they’ve practiced songs from Lil Nas X, DJ Khaled, and other popular artists. During other events, they play classical pieces by composers like Beethoven, movie soundtracks (ex: Harry Potter), and video game music. At the end of the year, you’ll get a chance to research and practice the music you want to perform!
If you’re interested, Mr. Bores, the advisor, asks that you meet with him. His classroom number is 126. He’s happy to help you figure out any concerns you might have and discuss your interests in music.
Mr. Bores says, “Over the past few years, the Renton High School band has become a huge part of the school culture and spirit. If you’re thinking about joining, be ready to commit and know that you’ll play an important role in making RHS a better place for everyone.”
