Are you an African American who attends RHS, or have African American friends who attend RHS, or just have a passion for social justice? If so, you should attend Renton High School’s Black Student Union!
Renton High School’s Black Student Union creates a space for Black students and allies of Black students to feel safe and seen. It is also a space for issues that affect African American students to be addressed and solved. In addition, there is a performance club to perform at our multicultural show in February.
Our Black Student Union celebrates Black culture and creates a feeling of belonging within the Black community, but that’s not all. They do other fun events such as Black trivia, fundraisers, and holiday events, so if you want to test your knowledge on Black culture or want to spend your holidays with others, BSU may be for you!
If you want to show your love for Black culture in front of an audience, then you should join!
BSU meets every other Wednesday after school in Miss Thornton’s room (Room # 211).
