Gardening club focuses on three different aspects of gardening and general plant knowledge. The first focus is harvesting, food preservation, and recipes in the fall. Students are taught how to make homemade apple cider and jam. Then, we host a fall fundraiser where we sell the homemade apple cider, homemade scones, and jam made from home-grown fruit.

The second focus is general plant knowledge, which we do in the winter. We do a variety of indoor activities related to plants, which include playing games about edible and poisonous wild plants, using plant materials in wildcrafting, such as baskets and wreaths, painting rocks for the garden, and taking divisions of houseplants to sell during our mid-winter Plant Sale. On nice days, we may go out into the courtyard to do yard work.
The third focus is planting a vegetable garden and maintaining the flowers and other plants in the courtyard, which we purchase using the money from our fundraisers. We usually host a spring plant sale.
Students can gain community service hours by taking part in any activity having to do with our fundraisers or with the upkeep of the courtyard.
