Scholar Saturday is an event at Renton High School on selected Saturdays in the library from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm for students to work on missing assignments and get help from teachers. Students attend Scholar Saturdays because they don’t have the grades they want, and they want assistance from their teachers. At Scholar Saturday, there is food, games, and you get awards for completing each assignment.

Usually, you have to sign up in advance so there is enough food ordered for everyone, etc. In addition to this, Scholar Saturday helps students improve their grades by offering a structured environment to catch up on missing assignments with direct teacher assistance. This focused time, away from typical distractions, allows students to concentrate on their work. The added incentives of food, games, and awards create a positive atmosphere, motivating students to complete tasks they might otherwise avoid.
Scholar Saturday enables students to take charge of their academic performance and attain the grades they want by addressing the underlying causes of poor grades, such as incomplete work and a lack of understanding. Students are further motivated toward academic success by the constant support and encouragement given during these sessions, which boosts self-esteem and creates a sense of achievement.
Scholar Saturday encourages community and teamwork in addition to academic support. Students can collaborate, exchange ideas, and gain knowledge from one another, which improves their comprehension of the subject matter. Teachers are present to provide prompt answers to questions and individualized instruction, ensuring that students successfully understand the material. With the help of these tools and resources, students can finish their unfinished assignments, improve their study techniques, and have a better attitude when learning.
