A 15-foot sinkhole on Rainier Ave opened up on Wednesday and has been causing immense traffic for people in the area since then, despite the road only being closed for around a day.

Workers started construction immediately to fix the problem and have  been working through the night. Currently they estimate that construction will be done today – Thursday the 8th – sometime in the afternoon.

Until then, drivers are advised to stay away from the road due to safety issues and expect delays when taking the various detours set up around the main road.
