Nintendo “newness”

Ileana Shannon, Staff Writer

In the most recent Nintendo Direct, Nintendo has announced new games and features for the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3Ds.

Nintendo has also released a new feature for the Nintendo Switch called the Nintendo Switch Online. This feature allows players to interact online with friends all around the world, which also allows them to play all the classic NES games with friends. It also includes the Save Data Cloud, which backs up the game data if something were to happen to the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo also made a smartphone app for this feature, where players can voice chat with other players in a series of games.

The last feature Online has is that players can get special offers only for Online members, such as NES-style controllers or exclusive Splatoon 2 gear.

In order to access Online, players would have to pay a certain price for each month, depending on which membership they desire.

“If you ever have the cash to pay it, then maybe. You can see if it’s at all lag. If not, then it’s great,” Cameron said, an RHS student.

One of the most hyped-up games more information was released on is Super Smash Bros, Ultimate. Ever since the reveal in E3, they have announced more echo fighters and some new fighters like King K. Rool and Isabella. The game will have over 100 stages to play on and over 800 music tracks to listen to.

In addition, some other hyped-up games include Super Mario Party, Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu/Let’s Go Eevee, Mega Man 11, Cities: Skylines and many more.

Not only are there new games being released later in 2018, but some games are being remade to either the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3Ds, with a twist. Some examples are Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn, Luigi’s Mansion, Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr’s Journey, Katamari Damacy REROLL, and New Super Mario Bros. U.
