Thousands of Immigrants in Need of Asylum in U.S.
November 19, 2018
Many families coming from Central America and leaving their countries are in need of help. At least 5,000 or more people are leaving because of the poverty, gangs, and the drugs involved in the countries in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.
These people from Central America are seeking asylum in the United States. The government of Mexico provided them a place in sleep in a football stadium in Mexico City after crossing the Mexican Border.
Families leaving Mexico City and trying to reach the U.S./Mexico border are waiting for a response from the U.S., while more than 51,000 soldiers are being sent to stand-by the border to make sure no immigrant crosses the U.S./Mexico border.
Both sides of the border are being supported by a group of people, mostly Hispanics, supporting the people and their families to let them cross borders and help the people.
President Trump is calling this act of migration an “invasion,” while others claim the people are only looking for help, running away from their countries seeking asylum, which is a legal law that the United States can do for asylum seekers.
The President has recently signed a proclamation limiting asylum seekers.
The people of Central America now have to make a choice to either keep fighting for asylum in the United States or to go back to the dangers of their countries.
