Holiday invitational cheer competition

This past weekend marked the Renton cheerleaders 2nd year of attending cheer competitions.

Last year, the Renton cheerleaders took 2nd place in the stomp division at the state competition. This year, the cheerleaders did 2 divisions: game day and, of course, stomp.

This was an all-day event. The cheerleaders went on at 6:00 and 6:45am.

They first performed for game day.

They put on a show for everyone, but did end up getting a 35 point deduction due to going over the time limit. They didn’t let this get to them too much because there were more competitions to attend for qualifying to go to state.

On the bright side, in the end they took first place in stomp and did qualify for state.

So, the cheerleaders will be attending state. They also got no deductions on their score sheet for stomp. Throughout these performances, the crowd went crazy for our cheerleaders.

Being able to participate in these types of events is so much fun; they get to meet so many people from different areas and we get to show other schools what The Renton High School is about.

Future cheer competitions coming up that the RHS Cheerleaders would love for anyone to come out support are the Wintercheer Competition on January 12th and the Sequoia cheer competition on January 19th
