Lauren Wetzel, Staff Writer

This week (January 14th-18th) is Martin Luther King celebration week at Renton High School.

MLK day is January 21st, but we are celebrating a week early because Multicultural week is planned for that week.

Each day will have a different way to celebrate and show respect to African American culture.

  • The first day, Monday January 14th, there will be songs played from influential African American musicians during passing period.
  • Tuesday, January 15th, is called Soul Train day and students can wear clothes from the 70’s to show pride.
  • Wednesday,January 16th, music from Black-led movies will be played during passing period.
  • On Thursday January 17th students can wear black clothes to participate in celebration week.
  • Finally, on Friday January 18th students can wear shirts that have leaders of color on them.

Last week during advisory a power point presentation with more information about this week.
