Renton High School finally gets seating in commons after a long battle
January 16, 2019
Renton High school finally gets tables with seats in the commons of the school.
Christina Neuschwander, the coordinator of the Associated Student Body, has been working very hard to get the seating arrangement approved and funded by RHS and the Renton School District.
On December 17th 2018, the tables were officially implemented in the heart of Renton High.
“It doesn’t look like much, but these four tables represent 3 years of work to get seating in the comments,” Ms. Neu shared.
The commons is a popular place among Renton High students. Students eat their lunches here, spend passing periods here, and sit on the floor here before and after school and during pretty much any of their free time at RHS.
ASB believes that it is important to create an environment that is welcoming to students and these tables might just be a way to improve the overall environment at Renton High. Rather than an empty space with hard floors, the students now have a safe place they can rest at as they please. This could possibly create a more positive atmosphere for the students and staff.
