This year, Renton High’s Girls’ Swim & Dive, acquired 4/13 wins this season. The team consisted of nine members, Jamie Honmyo, Alisa Honmyo, Kate Godunov, Dalen Kem, Anna Wetzel, Shazoda Shamsieva, Catherine Flores, Charisse Marshall, and Deborah Avila. Their coach, Dianne, has been coaching for 20+ years. This year, the girls practiced at the Hazen Pool and held a majority of their meets there. From the limited amount of members in the swim team, the girls’ often had multiple races where none of them were in it meaning the other team had a for-sure win. Anna Wetzel, a freshman swimmer, made it to state this year. One of the girls were interviewed about their experience from this year’s swim. Dalen Kem, a beginner swimmer, said, “The coach really pushed me to do my best…it was (a) good way for me to work out and I really like the sport itself!”
