The Matter of the Heart is an event where teachers of Renton High School choose one of their students to celebrate their students’ achievements in the classroom. The event is always in the morning, starting off by serving breakfast made by the culinary class, therefore, giving the staff, teachers, and students a chance to interact with one another while eating breakfast. Then the awards are handed out to the students, whom teachers have chosen to nominate from their classes. This is followed by the choirs’ performances. At the end, before students and teachers start heading to their class, the principal congratulates the teachers and staff members who have been at the school for many years and that’s all that happens during a matter of the heart at our school.
