For many, music is something that they can’t live without. It has been a part of mankind since the beginning, being a part of culture, religion, and social media, but what makes it so special? What makes music what it is today?
What makes an artist stand out?
When mentioning musical artists, many names come to mind. Some of the best selling artists are The Beatles, Garth Brooks, and Elvis Presley, but what makes their music so appealing to such a wide audience? Is it their message? Is it the lyrics? Or is it simply catchy? Here are some reasons why people may find music appealing:
How an artist makes a connection with their audience plays a big part in an artist’s appeal. This may relate to the listener which builds deeper relatability to a song. Having a melody that goes well with the lyrics that can stick their song in someone’s head, or being unique and playing their cards differently, and being more creative can likely make an artist’s work more appealing to an audience.
How does your music taste change?
For many, their choice in music may change as they grow. Some reasons for why change can occur in music taste may be because people grow and age, and experience more in life. Their music tastes will reflect that. When at a young age when experimenting with music, it helps to expand one’s image in society. Later in life music starts to become something more social. This helps people to reach out to others with similar interests causing further change to their music tastes.
In conclusion, when it comes to music, it’s everywhere and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be going away anytime soon. Learning one’s taste in music and where it comes from can really help you learn who someone is as a person.
