My Flowers WILL Grow

Lauren Wetzel, Editor-In-Chief

My roots died

For there was no more water.

Only the hot sun

Radiating

Self underestimation

And fear of what’s next.

But I am refilling my watering can,

I am filling it to the brim

With all the love that I have been missing

And I will drench my roots in it

Because I’m tired of dying of thirst

When a river is flowing right next to me

I am no longer accepting mediocre

I am giving myself everything my soul needs,

Because I am a flourishing vine

And my flowers will grow
