Clean Sweep begins again for 2025!
Renton’s Clean Sweep Program is back! From March 1 until December 31, 2025, single family residential customers within Renton city limits can schedule one pickup of extra garbage at no extra cost.
This pickup will occur on your regular garbage day and must be scheduled one to four weeks in advance.
Pickups can include
- ️Up to 10 units (32 gallons per unit, no side longer than three feet, max weight of 65 lbs.)
- Two bulky items like mattresses, sofas, or chairs
The following items are not accepted and should be recycled or disposed of in other ways: appliances, electronics, recyclables, yard waste, liquids, hazardous items, and construction material.
Please consider repair, reuse, or recycling items instead of disposal to reduce environmental impact.

Renton Parks & Recreation’s Teen Bingo Night has been Postponed!
The Teen Bingo Night originally scheduled for February 7, has been rescheduled to Friday, March 28 due to recent and forecasted inclement weather.
Teens ages 14 – 17 are invited for a night exclusively for teens next Friday, March 28, from 6:30 – 9 p.m. at the Renton Highlands Neighborhood Center. There will be bingo and other games, with a chance to win a prize, like a Stanley Cup or a Polaroid camera. Other activities include hanging out at the photo station, enjoying open gym, and eating delicious food with friends. Space is limited. The cost for teens ages 14-17 is $5.00.

Bezos Academy applications now open for 2025-2026 school year
Located within the North Highlands Neighborhood Center, the Bezos Academy has been offering tuition-free, Montessori-inspired preschool programs since its establishment in 2023.
With an enrollment of 51 students, including 23 Renton families, the academy has become a resource for Renton residents seeking quality and affordable early childhood education.
There are two eligibility requirements:
- Families must have a gross annual income up to 400% of the federal poverty limit.
- Children must be age three to four by September 1, 2025.
Applicants are selected through a lottery system.

The partnership between the City of Renton and the Bezos Academy began in 2021 when the academy and the city’s Parks and Recreation Department discussed North Highlands Neighborhood Center becoming the permanent home of the Renton Bezos Academy.
