Dimmitt Winterfest is a magical time of year, filled with festive decorations, joyful gatherings, and a sense of togetherness. This year, Winterfest is taking on a special meaning as it celebrates the incredible contributions of the Kinship Caregivers. These are family members or close friends who step in to care for children when their parents are unable to do so. Their selflessness and dedication deserve recognition, and Winterfest provides the perfect opportunity to honor them.

The event kicks off with a heartwarming opening ceremony, where kinship caregivers are welcomed with open arms and heartfelt appreciation. The venue is adorned with twinkling lights, snowflake decorations, and cozy winter-themed settings, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. As attendees gather, they are treated to delicious food such as pasta, mashed potatoes, brisket, and lavender lemonade, accompanied by live music.

One of the highlights of Winterfest is the recognition we give to the cohorts and Kinship Caregivers. This special segment of the event is dedicated to acknowledging the hard work and sacrifices made by these caregivers. They receive an acknowledgment that is well deserved. This ceremony serves as a reminder of the vital role these caregivers play in providing stability and love to the children in their care.

Throughout the day, a variety of activities are organized to bring joy and laughter to both caregivers and their children. There are arts and crafts stations where families can create winter-themed decorations, face painting booths, and even a barber. There are also multiple vendors selling paintings and jewelry.
