Renton School District has an exciting opportunity just for you! During Mid-Winter Break, February 13-20, 2027, we are planning to take 30 students from Renton, Lindbergh, Talley, and Hazen on a powerful, multi-day HBCU Tour to Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee!
This experience is open to all students and is designed to be culturally affirming, inspiring, and eye-opening. Tentatively, you’ll have the opportunity to walk the campuses of Tennessee State, Fisk, Meharry Medical, LeMoyne-Owen, and American Baptist; connecting with current students, learning about admissions and financial aid, and experiencing what college life is really like at these historic institutions.
Beyond the trip, you’ll receive year-long college and career mentorship from HBCU Mentors and Peer Mentors who are invested in your growth and success.
Important Note: The 2026–27 HBCU Delegation is currently pending Renton School Board approval. All selections made through this process will be provisional until final approval is granted.
