October 1st, 2024 was the celebration of the success of our very own Renton High School’s cross-country seniors. As we celebrate their future endeavors, we want to reflect on their long journey as dedicated cross-country runners, their ability to show up every day ready and excited for practice, their positive energy, as well as becoming great role models for their underclassmen. They are extremely appreciated and they will be greatly missed by our school and other cross-country runners.
The 2024-2025 cross-country seniors include Shingo Evamoto (#6), Benson Doan (#25), Austin Abellon (#11), Matthew Phang (#5), and Cameron Stadler (#28). During the meet against Evergreen and Tyee, the seniors came in clutch, securing a win for Renton. What a win for the last home game of the season! To show their appreciation, underclassmen took the time out of their day to come together and surprise the seniors with posters containing memories of their time with the cross-country team. The underclassmen brought baskets filled with cute necessities and personalized gifts. Weeks of preparation took place leading up to the special day, including shopping for the essentials, prepping the baskets, and making progress on posters until the day of senior night. Family, friends, teachers, and the SSA (Student Spirit Association) attended the meet to show their support. The SSA cheered them on with a personalized poster of each individual senior.
Congratulations to the 2024-2025 cross-country seniors! Whether you plan on continuing cross-country after high school or going down a different path, may you prosper in your passions and everything that you do. You are greatly appreciated in the Renton cross-country team and community, and your time and dedication will forever be cherished!
