The Renton School District has a program that is called Mckinney – Vento. The Mckinney – Vento Homeless Assistance Act is a federal law that provides educational rights for students who experience homelessness which includes a lack of housing, economic problems, and those who sleep in cars. They also help those students go to school and continue their education. Likewise, they provide these students with transportation, stability, and access to all of the school programs including free meals. If you or anyone you know are experiencing homelessness, please don’t be afraid to access these resources that the state and school district provide students with:
