Meet my auntie Kitisha Jones. She works for the Seattle School District, and she works with elementary, middle school, and high school students. She just kind of found this job, but she always knew that she wanted to help kids. She loves what she does!
She helps students advocate for themselves, reduces barriers to why they cannot attend school, tutors and checks to make sure their grades are passing. She loves her job, which is full time. She’s been doing it for 25 years. Her favorite part is watching the students find their way and knowing that she plays a part in their success. She has great medical and retirement benefits. The one thing she doesn’t like about her job is that she can’t help every single student, but overall, she helps the students she works with.
In the end, Kitisha Jones’s work goes far beyond a title or a paycheck. Every day she shows students that someone believes in them, even when things feel hard. By helping them speak up for themselves and stay on track in school, she helps shape their futures in ways that last a lifetime. Although she can’t help every student, the lives she does touch are changed for the better. Kitisha Jones proves that making a difference doesn’t require fame, just dedication, heart, and a commitment to helping one student at a time.
