The Seattle Kraken came to Renton on Saturday, October 11, 2025, to host a free community event at the Renton Community Center. Families got to meet team representatives, play street hockey games, and even get free Kraken gear. The team said the event is part of their plan to connect with fans outside Seattle and get more kids interested in hockey. Kraken organizers said Renton was one of several neighborhoods they plan to visit this season. “Our goal is to make hockey fun and easy for everyone in Washington,” said a team spokesperson. “Events like this help kids get active and try something new.” People could also learn about the team’s youth hockey programs and other community projects. The event took place outside the Renton Community Center, where colorful tents, games, and hockey nets filled the area. Many families took photos with team representatives, and the energy was high throughout the day.
Lots of Renton families were excited to see the NHL team in their city. “I never thought I’d get to play street hockey with the Kraken in my own neighborhood,” said 7th grader Carlos Lopez. “Now I want to try ice skating for real.” The event had hundreds of people attending and showed how sports teams can bring the community together and get students and families involved. Fans who want to learn about future events can visit the Kraken’s website or follow their social media pages for updates.
