
On February 24, 2026 the Renton Police department responded to a reported domestic violence incident at an apartment near 120th Lane SE and SE 171st Lane. When officers arrived, they saw that the couple’s disagreement had escalated into a physical struggle. The male had reportedly pointed a gun at his partner, and she defended herself by stabbing him in the leg. The Valley SWAT team took the suspect into custody without any life-threatening injuries.
After the incident on February 26, officers referred the people involved to several Renton support services available to domestic violence survivors. The Renton Police Department’s Domestic Violence Victim Advocate helps survivors with safety planning, interpreter and transportation support, and navigating protection orders. Local organizations like Consejo Counseling and Referral Services and the YWCA provide counseling, legal help, and community advocacy, emphasizing that resources are available to help survivors heal and move forward.
