
On Saturday, March 7th, 2026, a group of students from Renton High School A Cappella Choir, directed by Mr. Lim, attended an A Cappella Ensemble Competition at Hazen High School.
The song they performed is “Prayer Of The Children,” by Kurt Bestor, arranged by Andrea S. Klouse. This song is about the Yugoslav War in 1990 and the innocent children who were caught in the middle of the war, pleading for peace and sending a message of hope.
RHS students needed to arrive at Hazen High School before 10:30 AM to meet in the warm-up room to practice for their performance. Around 10 AM, RHS students finally arrived to the warm-up room, where they did vocal warm-ups and practiced “Prayer Of The Children.” This song was represented by:

After practicing in the warm-up room, the RHS students headed down to the Hazen Choir room, where a judge was waiting for them to see their performance.
After singing, “Prayer Of The Children,” by Kurt Bestor, the judge gave the team a score of excellent. The judge also gave the group some feedback, which the group used to reflect on for what they did well and what they needed to improve, so that they could shine more in future competitions.
