On Saturday June 6th, 2026, RHS A Cappella students met at Renton High School by 9AM with Mr. Lim to get on their bus to go to Federal Way High School for a music competition. Every year Mr. Lim and his A Cappella students go to Federal Way High School to compete, and after the competition, they can have fun at Wild Waves before they meet at the Award Ceremony. This year is a very special one because Wild Waves is closing soon, and this was the last time that RHS A Cappella students could enjoy Wild Waves!

When the RHS A Cappella Choir arrived at Federal Way High School, Asia Miyata from Mr. Bores Orchestra/ Jazz Band once again volunteered to help Mr. Lim RHS A Cappella Choir by playing the piano for two of the songs they performed!
They performed three of their festival songs:
- “Prayer of the Children,” by Kurt Bestor; arr. Andrea Klouse
- “Sing Gently,” by Eric Whiteacre; featuring: Aisa Miyata on the Piano
- “Yo Le Canto Todo El Dia,” by David L. Brunner

After RHS A Cappella finished performing at Federal Way High School, they got on their bus and drove to Federal Way Crossing for lunch, and then they went to Wild Waves!

At Wild Waves, Mr. Lim asked everyone to get into groups so they can go and have fun!

After a while of having FUN, it was time for everyone to meet at the Award Ceremony!

After hearing different teams get their award, RHS A Cappella waited to hear what they will get. They worked hard for this performance, and they practiced for it since their final concert in the IPAC.
Finally, after waiting, the judges announced the score and the placement that RHS A Cappella Choir gets. Their score was…EXCELLENT! Their placement was…1ST PLACE!
Congrats RHS A CAPPELLA! YOU DID IT!!!

Right after RHS A Cappella got their award, Asia Miyata got her award as Overall Best Student Accompanist!
NICE JOB ASIA MIYATA!

After the Officers had taken their photos, Mr. Lim told everyone to go have more fun and come back in one hour… So, everyone went to have their fun!

After a long day of competition and having fun afterward, the RHS A Cappella team hopped on their bus and returned to Renton High School!
