On March 7th, 2026, the Renton High School A Cappella Ensemble Group went to Hazen High School to perform “Prayer of the Children,” where a judge gave them feedback on what they did well and what they needed to improve so they could shine more in future competitions.
The A Cappella Ensemble Group took the feedback and told the rest of their classmates what they needed to improve. For example, to drop your jaw, to show feelings when singing, and to have more facial expressions.
On March 19th, 2026, the Renton High School A Cappella students went back with the rest of their classmates, but this time they had the knowledge of what to do. Three songs were added to their performance, and more people joined to create an unstoppable team. They performed the best they could by putting their power into singing.
The four songs they performed were:
- Prayer of the Children (By: Kurt Bestor)
- Ubi Caristas (By: Ola Gjeilo)
- Sing Gently (By: Eric Whitacre)
- Yo Le Canto todo El Dia (By: David L. Brunner)
After the group was done performing, they headed backstage to their warm-up room and waited for a judge to give them feedback on their performance. The judges told them that they did a great job on delivering the emotions and the energy to all of the songs they had performed, and the judge gave them a final score of…SUPERIOR! Congratulations RedHawkS!
After the Choir Festival was finished, the Renton High School A Cappella students headed to their bus so they could go back to RHS to celebrate their accomplishment and get ready for future competitions.
