Michigan advanced past Arizona 91-73, while UConn defeated the Illinois fighting Illini 71-62 to secure the other spot in the title game.
The UConn vs Illinois game was defined by physical defense, tight execution, and long stretches in which neither team could create much separation. On the other side of the bracket, Michigan’s balanced attack and timely stops proved to be big factors of the game against Arizona, leading them to a blowout win.
Michigan then completed its run with a 69-63 victory on Monday, April 6th over UConn to capture the national championship, capping a tournament that featured crazy moments, strong performances, and a familiar Final Four city in Indianapolis.
