The season came to an end for the Renton Redhawks girls softball team after a 16-2 loss to the Nathan Hale Raiders in the district 2 tournament in Seattle. Nathan Hale jumped out early and never looked back, scoring 15 runs through the first three innings to take control of the game. Renton managed to score twice in the fourth inning, but the Raiders closed out the win after five innings. Despite the tough ending, the RedHawkS continued to battle throughout the game and showed the resilience they carried all season long.
While the loss ended Renton’s season, the RedHawkS had several bright moments throughout the spring. The team picked up big wins over rivals and conference opponents, including a 21-11 victory over Lindbergh and a dominant 25-8 performance against Mercer Island earlier in the year. Renton also finished the season with an offensive spark in multiple games, scoring double-digit runs several times and showing improvement throughout the schedule.
