What is a concussion?

Concussions are a type of traumatic brain injury, caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head or by a hit to the body that causes the head and brain to move rapidly back and forth.

It is also more dangerous than many realize.

Medical research tells that 15% of athletes suffer the biggest damage in their brains from concussions that can cause hematoma as a short-term injury or even dementia for long-term damages.

Two of the sport more likely to have concussions to their members are boxing and football, because of the constant shaking of their heads and moments of potential impact.

For example, boxers get constant punches to their heads that can cause one of the most common syndromes which is call dementia Pugilistica or “drunk punch syndrome” where the brain minimizes in size.

Be aware of what happens around, and do not take head injuries lightly.

Be informed of all possible risks in any activities.

It is important for people to not top doing what they like, but to be careful and always keep head safety a number one priority.
