Arnie Young is the annual track meet invitational hosted by the Renton School District. Schools from all around Puget Sound region travel to to the Renton Memorial Stadium to compete, as well as families and supporters. It was a significantly momentous meet for all athletes, particularly Renton High’s own track team.

One of the distance coaches,  Mr.King, commented, “Despite the weather, we had many athletes hit PR’s (personal records). This is our annual fundraiser that we host with Lindbergh and Hazen and is a great way for our school and district to showcase our great facilities and home. Overall, it was a very successful and efficient meet.”

Sophomore Katelynn A. spoke to her experience running at the meet this year. “It’s our very own invitational, there’s merchandise and lots of unique races, which I believe makes it a very fun track meet.”

The Arnie Young track meet is fun event for athletes and spectators alike, with a positive atmosphere reflecting the school district as a whole. It is a track meet that all participants look forward to running, and motivates them towards constant improvement as their season goes on.
