The Renton High School boys basketball team had a tough 2024–25 season, finishing with an 8–17 overall record and going just 1–2 in KingCo 2A league play. Though the season didn’t hold the wins that they hoped for, the RedHawkS gained valuable experience and have some promising players to build around for this year’s 2025-26 basketball season.
Despite the adversity, there were bright spots throughout the season. The team showed a lot of talent, especially in close games. They kept continuing to battle even when the scoreboard didn’t go their way. Offensively, they had leaders like Jordan Agosto, Isaac Elegan, and Nate Omar who carried much of the load, showing that Renton has the talent to compete when things click. Although Agosto graduated last June, Elegan and Omar’s leadership will be important heading into 2025–26 as new players will need to be ready to take a bigger role.
Looking ahead to the 2025–26 season, Renton is preparing for a bounce-back season with one of their new key players Sudan Luok who transferred from Garfield High School. The RedHawkS hope to improve and make a deep state tournament run with a combination of their returning players and their new key pieces of the team.
