The Renton RedHawkS girl’s basketball are once again in position to make postseason history, entering district play with momentum and a legitimate chance to secure back-to-back district championships. Renton has built a good overall record this season, showing itself as one of the top contenders in the 2A class being ranked top 10 in the state in multiple rankings put out by the WIAA. After capturing last year’s district title, the RedHawkS have returned with experience, improved chemistry, and a defensive identity that has fueled another impressive winter campaign.
Renton heads into the postseason riding a two-game winning streak in districts, defeating Sultan 62-24 before following it up with a convincing 66-37 win over Foster. In both games, the RedHawkS showcased balanced scoring and disciplined defense, controlling the game and limiting second-chance opportunities. With confidence growing at the right time and key contributors stepping up on both ends of the floor, Renton looks to win back-to-back championships and will play in the district championship on Saturday, February 14th, against 12-9 Nathan Hale.
